My beginnings in games

It all started when I was six years old and got my first computer. Unfortunately, it wasn't very powerful, so I couldn't play the interesting shooter games my peers were playing, and my parents didn't even want to buy them, instead buying me games where you build a hospital, a zoo or a railway. And so began my love affair with strategy games. Countless times I've built a zoo in Zoo Tycoon and run home to build a roller coaster in Roller Coaster Tycoon before my sister comes home and we have to count the change. In short, I loved strategy games.

I was thirteen years old when we got internet at home and I discovered the magic of online games. And it was mainly online strategy games that I played. And it was incredible. You could immediately play against several people, just to compare yourself in the game table and see if I was better than the others or not, and that motivated me. I played some games like Tribal Wars or Ikariam a lot.

And all this to the point of "greatness" until I decided to program my own game. So I learned how to write code in PHP, created websites and had a few small prototypes. Unfortunately, I didn't know much about performance, and the games were slow and didn't work very well. So I figured I probably wouldn't make a career out of developing online games and started working more on professional websites because that's what I was good at - getting a site up as quickly and efficiently as possible is my thing, and that's how I got into online marketing, where I am today.

Start of StrateGGames

I took a break from gaming for a few years and worked on a career in marketing until I came back to gaming during COVID. I discovered new age games like Cities Skylines / Hearts of Iron and others. The problem was that I couldn't find many resources and sites dedicated to games that would support me in "tryhard" gaming. All the sites were too general - shallow - in short, not much. So in 2022 I decided to start StrateGGames, where we would go in depth.

And that's how we live until now :)
